WOW!  Just presented at one of the best High Schools That Work summer conferences ever!

When I present at conferences I always get psyched for teaching my own students.  I remember fun activities to include in my own lesson plans.  This year my favorite presentation was "I'm Not Sharing My Popcorn!" - a collection of ideas on using video clips in any classroom.  For those who attended or you guys who are interested, check out the new page "conferences" on my website, looneyteachr.com - I've posted key points and "stuff" from my HSTW presentations!

Ok - so from what planet did 7th graders come?  6th graders are so cute and they love doing weird activities and they're respectful and friendly and all smiles.  7th graders, on any given day, can laugh and enjoy life then in a skinny minute resemble little devils running around in chaos!!  omgosh!

how does life goes so fast that i haven't blogged since august ??!!!  what? that's crazy!  new 8th grade classes - new content - daughter getting married in april (oh she got her first teaching job this year AT MY SCHOOL! - and she's awesome!)  anywho - here it is the end of 2011 and whoaaa nelly!!

Teaching in the basement!

I'm afraid to wake up!  This school year is like I imagined teaching would be when I taped my world map on the basement wall and played school!  AWESOMELY AWESOME!  We've got a great new bunch of energetic, young, eager teachers who are an inspiration - and the kids - oh the kids!  Polite, smart little cookies that just make my day - everyday!  I LOVE SCHOOL!

Awesome book!

Just started reading Why Are All The Good Teachers Crazy? by Frank Stepnowski - WOW!  He's hilarious and real!  There's some language so goody-two-shoes need not read - but it's an honest portrayal of the life of a great teacher and what teaching's really like - check it out!

HSTW Nashville!

Wow!  Best summer conference yet!  Met lots of great teachers and had a blast!  Would love to hear what you guys learned at the many sessions available this year!
